Paula Aitken is the mother of Colin, Child # 4 in the now infamous study on the possible connection between the MMR vaccine and autism.
The MMR vaccine-autism report published in The Lancet and then retracted:
Research was conducted by a group led by Andrew Wakefield and a paper was published in The Lancet in 1998. Journalist Brian Deer’s allegations that Wakefield “manipulated” results to fit his theory led to an investigation by the UK’s General Medical Council which found that Wakefield “acted “dishonestly and irresponsibly” and…acted with “callous disregard” for the children involved in his study, conducting unnecessary and invasive tests. The Lancet retracted the “fraudulent” paper in 2010.
